365 days of izo day 158 - on biji's 86th birthday

The matriarch of the family who gave my mama and I a home when we first moved here. People we didn't even know until a few weeks before we immigrated to Canada. They were my mom's sisters (who lived in Scotland) neighbours brother (who lived in Brampton). Kind of a massive favour for complete strangers. It meant the world to us knowing someone would be there to pick us up at the airport, give us a place to stay, show us around and tell us what bus to take to get our sin number and health card set up. They helped us find an apartment, which helped me find a job (a nigh shift at a bottle packing factory), little by little we dreamt our dreams and worked hard to make them come true. Now here we are in this incredibly happy place surrounded by some of the finest people.
