Matt & Heidi get married

The plan was for me to rent a car and drive to Pembroke the night before Matt & Heidi's wedding. Stay with friends, drink some wine, sleep in and then head out to Deep River to photograph their wedding. Despite reserving a car, they didn't have one. My Seinfeld joke flew right over the Hertz attendee's head and rather embarrassed I decided to leave early the next morning (note to self, try going one day without making a Seinfeld reference). On my drive there, it poured rain and was calling for a lot more rain. We were even blessed with torrential downpours right as the ceremony was supposed to start. If any of this sounds chaotic and panic worthy, I assure you there wasn't a moment of panic (silent prayers perhaps but no panic). I got to hang out with the happiest bunch and nothing was going to dampen anyone's spirit. There was such a sense of calm and sheer joy throughout this perfect day. I sent Heidi an email after shooting her wedding and said "You really get to know a person on their wedding day and you and Matt were full of grace and joy". True story :)
Congrats Matt & Heidi!

A heart felt thank-you to Stacey from Stacey Stewart Photography, for introducing me to this lovely couple. Be sure to visit and like her Facebook page! It was fun having a photographer shadow me and so very grown-up haha.

The only burst of sunshine we received.
